Our Worship
What to Expect
Each Lord’s Day we gather together to renew covenant with our God. We come together to reaffirm our faith and commitment to God. In other words, we declare together: You are our God and we are your people. And we ask our Father: Would you forgive us, bless us, and guide us into the coming week so that we can live boldly by faith?
Our Covenant Renewal Worship consists of five parts, drawn from the Scriptures and long practiced in the history of the church.
Call to Worship
As our God calls us to living faith from dead unbelief, so we are called to rise and worship the Triune and Living God.
Confession of Sin
As we come into the presence of our Holy God we are reminded of our sinfulness. No one is without sin, but God loves to forgive. Together we kneel, confess our sins, and receive forgiveness in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Consecration to the Lord
Not only are we forgiven, but we are consecrated, or set-apart, for the work of God by the Word of God. By singing, reading, praying, and receiving the Word of God proclaimed through the sermon, we are renewed to serve our Lord in the world.
Communion with Christ
We feast with our God at his Table. Communion is the glad and joyful climax of the Lord’s Service. Together we commune with the body and blood of Christ through participating in the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper. All who are baptized and under the authority of Christ and his Body, the church, are welcome to taste and see the goodness of God.
Commissioning
Having been called, forgiven, equipped, and nourished at his Table, we are sent back out into the world to glorify and enjoy God as we extend his Kingdom.
